The Staff
The Professional coaching staff at RBI Baseball Camps and Clinics
rivals that of any program in the country. Coaches have experience
playing and/or coaching at the professional, collegiate, and high
school level. All RBI coaches are hand picked to ensure the highest
quality of instruction regardless of the participant's ability level.
Each staff member is committed to providing each participant with a
safe and enjoyable experience while learning the best in baseball
skills. Our entire staff is committed to the RBI mission of
effectively providing young people of all ages with the skills that
guide them toward success both on the baseball diamond, and throughout
life, teaching the importance of individual responsibility, teamwork,
and a positive attitude towards everyday life.
Chris Dargon
Instructor/Pitching Instructor
Coach Dargon
graduated from Norwood High School in 1997. He played varsity all
four years and was the team’s captain in his senior year. During
his 4-year high school career, Chris compiled an astonishing 24-2
record and hit .431 as an outfielder. In 1997, he was the MVP of
the American Legion State Tournament. After high school, Chris went
on to pitch for the Northeastern University Huskies for two seasons
before transferring to Bridgewater State College. At Bridgewater,
Coach Dargon earned a bachelors degree in Business Administration
and majored in finance while lettering for the team’s baseball
season for 3 years. After an arm injury going into his senior year,
he decided to pick up a bat again and hit .396 while winning the
10th player award in 2002. During the summers of his college
career, Chris played for the Lexington Blue Sox of the Intercity
League. He has also played for the Rockland Cardinals and the
Wrentham Wrens of the Cranberry League as well as the Brighton Black
Sox of the Boston Yawkey League. Coach Dargon currently resides in
Norwood, MA.
Marc Desroches
Hitting/Pitching Instructor
Marc Desroches graduated from
Providence College in 1999. Coach Desroches had a tremendous
college career at Providence where he was awarded All-Big East,
All-New England, All-American and Big East Pitcher of the year in
1999. Marc played in the New England Collegiate All-Star Game in
1998 and captured the Big East Regular Season Championship in 1995
and Big East Tournament Championship in 1999. Coach Desroches also
played in the NCAA Regional Tournament @ Wichita St. in 1995 and was
NCAA Regional Tournament Finalists @ Florida St. in 1999. Coach
Marc Desroches graduated from Matignon High School in 1994. At MHS
Marc put together a great 4 years being named Boston Globe
All-Scholastic and Boston Herald All-Scholastic in 1993. Coach was
also part of the EMass All-Star Game, Mass/Connecticut All-Star Game
and part of the High School Team USA Tournament in Australia in
1994. Coach Desroches currently plays in the Yawkey League for
Somerville and has been awarded MVP in 1999, 2002, 2005, 2007 and
Triple Crown and CY Young winner in 2007. Other then College and
the Yawkey League Marc has also played in the Cape Cod League for
the Chatham A’s. Marc is an experienced coach with Cambridge Rindge
& Latin Varsity 2003-2007 and Matignon High School Varsity 2008
under his belt. Marc has helped out RBI with camps and clinics such
as Nomar Garciaparra Baseball Camp, Trot Nixon Baseball Camp, Kevin
Millar Baseball Clinic, Jason Varitek Baseball Camp, Terry Francona
Baseball Clinic, and Manny Delcarmen Baseball Clinic. Marc now
resides in Cambridge MA.
Nick Tempesta
Hitting/Fielding Instructor
A resident of Brockton, Nick attended Eastern Connecticut State
University and went on lead them to a National Championship in his
freshman year. Nick went on to become a two time All-American
shortstop at Econn. Once Nick completed his years at Eastern
Connecticut, the Toronto Blue Jays did not waste any time in
drafting him in the 26th round. Nick then went on to
earn the MVP of the Blue Jays minor league affiliate in the Pioneer
League. He spent his last few seasons with the Philadelphia
Phillies organization where he learned from one of the greatest
hitters of all time, Mike Schmidt. Before his college years Nick
was a standout athlete at Brockton High School. In his senior year
he received the high honor of being named Massachusetts Baseball
Player of the Year.
Sean McElroy
Hitting Instructor
Coach McElroy, was a graduate of Massachusetts College in 2001
while earning his degree in Business Management. During Sean’s time
at college he was a 4 year starting outfielder and captured the ECAC
Tournament Championship. Coach McElroy was awarded Team MVP and
First Team All MASCAC in his senior year and is also the all time
leader in Games Played, At Bats and RBI’s in a single season. Prior
to Sean’s 4 year college career, Coach McElroy graduated from
Norwood High School in 1997. Sean is now playing for the Lexington
Blue Sox through the Intercity League. Coach has played 8 seasons
with Lexington and is a 6 Time All Star.
Keith Brouillard
Instructor
Keith graduated from Franklin Pierce College in 2005 while earning
his Bachelor’s degree in Marketing. During his time as a pitcher at
Franklin Pierce, Brouillard helped lead the Ravens to the 2003
Division II College World Series, a Northeast Regional Championship,
and two Northeast-10 Conference Championships. He earned second team
ABCA/Rawlings All-Northeast Region during a solid junior season and
was selected to play in the NEIBA All-Star Game held at Fenway Park.
Keith ranks among career leaders at Franklin Pierce in earned run
average (3rd), wins (7th), complete games (8th) and strikeouts
(10th), while ranking among single-season leaders in wins (4th),
innings (5th), and ERA (7th). Keith, a native of Somerset, MA,
currently resides in Bellingham, MA with his fiancé Jess.
Ted Novio
Hitting/Pitching Instructor
Ted Novio grew up in Braintree, MA where he was a Varsity
pitcher for 3 years from 1985 – 87’. In his senior season, Ted had a
flawless 8 – 0 record with a miniscule 0.70 ERA which led to his
selections as an All-Scholastic in the Boston Globe, Boston Herald,
and Patriot Ledger. After High School, Ted attended the University
of Maine – Orono graduating in 1991 with a degree in Political
Science. On the field, he was a four-year letter winner for the
Black Bears. Following graduation Ted started his coaching career
starting as an assistant at Massasoit Community College in Brockton,
MA. Ted was also the Head Coach of the Braintree White Sox of the
Cranberry League from 1992 – 1994. During his tenure as head coach,
he lead the White Sox to 3 consecutive trips to the Stan Musial
World Series with Top 10 finishes in the country all 3 years. Ted
returned to his alma mater in 1993 and was an assistant coach with
the UMaine Black Bears for 5 years under legendary coach Dr. John
Winkin. Ted has also coached in the prestigious Cape Cod Baseball
League as the pitching coach with the Cotuit Kettleers in 1996 and
in Great Britain with Major League Baseball International in 1994
and 1995. For the past 12 years Ted has coached AAU teams with great
success. His team’s accomplishments include winning the 1995
National Classic Championship at the AAU Nationals and a 4th place
finish at the Triple Crown World Series in Steamboat Springs, CO. In
2004, Ted was inducted into the Cranberry League Hall of Fame.
Coley Lyons
Hitting Instructor
Coach Lyons is a graduate of Stonehill College where he was the
captain of the Stonehill College baseball program. While
playing for the Skyhawks, Coley was a two time All NE-10 selection.
During college Coley also played for the Harwich Mariners of the
elite Cape Cod Baseball League. Coach has also been an
all-star selection while playing for the Stockyard Club in the
Boston Park League. His earlier days were spent at Catholic
Memorial High School in West Roxbury.
Mike Luce
Hitting/Fielding/Pitching Instructor
Coach Luce brings a great deal of experience to the RBI staff.
Mike has been teaching the game of baseball for over 30 years. Mike
has been serving as the hitting and outfield coach for Dean College
for the past 8 years and in that time has also been working numerous
camps and clinics throughout the area. Coach Luce has spent time
serving as a coach for Foxboro High School as well as Medway High
School. As a player, Mike was a standout at Boston University.
John Graham
Hitting Instructor
As an outfielder for the
University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth, John was a two time
All-American outfielder. He was drafted by the Boston Red Sox after
his senior year at UMASS, and went on to receive numerous awards
while playing for the Red Sox organization. In 1996 John earned a
batting title while playing in the Big South, his .362 batting
average was most certainly a number that no one else could match.
John remains one of the most feared hitters in the New England area
while playing for the Easton Huskies of the Cranberry League. John
is a native of Abington Ma, and currently resides there with his
wife Noelle and son C.J.
Dan Morse
Hitting Instructor
Dan
played both football and baseball at Tufts University 1995-1999. He
was voted All New England in both sports; he was voted to the
All-American Baseball team in 1998 while batting .484. Dan set eight
career and single season records as a center fielder in baseball and
three more as a quarterback in football. Played two seasons
professionally for the Johnstown Johnnies (Frontier League). Won two
Gold Glove awards as well as a league championship. Served as
Director of Baseball Operations at the Hit Dog Training Center from
2002-2003. Dan is also a Director of the Trot Nixon and Jason
Varitek Baseball Camps. Dan is a native of Randolph, MA and
currently resides in Norton with his wife Amanda, his son Jackson
and his two dogs.
Dr. Jon Sjogren
Hitting/Pitching
Instructor
Coach
Sjogren starred for Bryant College from 1985-1988, twice earning
All-New England honors. He has the unique distinction of having
been the only individual in the program’s history to have won a
conference championship and competed in the NCAA Tournament as both
a player and a head coach. Jon was the head coach of the Bryant
University Bulldogs baseball program for 15 years. In 2004 he led
them to there first ever World Series berth in Montgomery, AL.
Currently Jon is the head baseball coach at Rollins College in
Orlando Florida.
Mark Cooke
Baseball Instructor
Mark Cooke is the Varsity Head Coach of Bishop Feehan High School's baseball program. Mark was a pitcher at Salve Regina University playing 4 years and during his senior year won the Conference Championship and competed in the NCAA Division III Tournament. Coach Cooke graduated from Bishop Feehan in 1997 on a team that went 20-2 his senior year and won the EAC Conference and All Star nominations. He played 6 years in the prestigious Sunset League in Newport, RI, winning the Cy Young Award to the top pitcher in 2002. After playing, he went into coaching at different levels, through the Pawtucket (RI) RBI Program, American Legion in Cumberland (RI), Cumberland (RI) Babe Ruth program and High School at the Wheeler School in Providence (RI) and now at his former high school, Bishop Feehan High School, in Attleboro (MA). Mark Cooke resides in Cumberland, RI with his wife Jessica, his son, Jacoby Tyler and his dog, Fenway. Mark is available for lessons in all aspects of the game.
