Marc DesRoches
Director, RBI Hawks Travel Baseball
Marc DesRoches graduated from Providence College in 1999. Coach DesRoches had a tremendous college career at Providence where he was awarded All-Big East, All-New England, All-American and Big East Pitcher of the year in 1999. Marc played in the New England Collegiate All-Star Game in 1998 and captured the Big East Regular Season Championship in 1995 and Big East Tournament Championship in 1999. Coach DesRoches also played in the NCAA Regional Tournament @ Wichita St. in 1995 and was NCAA Regional Tournament Finalists @ Florida St. in 1999. Coach Marc DesRoches graduated from Matignon High School in 1994. At MHS Marc put together a great 4 years being named Boston Globe All-Scholastic and Boston Herald All-Scholastic in 1993. Coach was also part of the EMass All-Star Game, Mass/Connecticut All-Star Game and part of the High School Team USA Tournament in Australia in 1994. Coach DesRoches currently plays in the Yawkey League for Somerville and has been awarded MVP in 1999, 2002, 2005, 2007 and Triple Crown and CY Young winner in 2007. Marc suited up for the Chatham A’s in the Cape Cod Baseball League helping them to the Cape Cod League Championship in 1998. Marc is an experienced coach with Cambridge Rindge & Latin Varsity 2003-2007 and Matignon High School Varsity 2008 under his belt. Marc has helped out RBI with camps and clinics such as Nomar Garciaparra Baseball Camp, Trot Nixon Baseball Camp, Kevin Millar Baseball Clinic, Jason Varitek/Dustin Pedroia Baseball Camp, Terry Francona Baseball Clinic, and Manny Delcarmen Baseball Clinic. Marc now resides in Cambridge MA.
John Graham
Head Coach, College Prospect Team
As an outfielder for the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth, John was a two time All-American outfielder. He was drafted by the Boston Red Sox after his senior year at UMASS, and went on to receive numerous awards while playing for the Red Sox organization. In 1996 John earned a batting title while playing in the Big South, his .362 batting average was most certainly a number that no one else could match. John remains one of the most feared hitters in the New England area while playing for the Easton Huskies of the Cranberry League. John is a native of Abington Ma, and currently resides there with his wife Noelle and son C.J.
Anthony Lauretto
Pitching Coach, College Prospect Team
Anthony Lauretto enters his first season as an assistant coach with Coach John Graham. Lauretto comes to the RBI Hawks from Newbury College and UMass-Boston, where he served as pitching coach alongside Coach Kraig Kupiec. Coach Lauretto looks forward to bringing his vast college pitching experience to some of the best high school pitchers in the area with hopes of taking them to the next level of their careers.
Coach Lauretto brings an astute understanding of teaching and coaching the mental and physical parts of baseball to the RBI Hawk coaching staff. Since 2003, he has worked at numerous camps and clinics including the All Star Baseball Camp and various RBI events.
Lauretto began his collegiate career at Eastern Nazarene College before transferring to UMass-Boston and established himself as formidable reliever in school history. In three seasons at UMass, he ranked second in the school’s all-time career appearances and tied a program career saves record with six.
A Pembroke, MA native earned his BA in Business Management from UMass Boston this past year and continues to pitch in the elite recreational Boston Park League.
Keith Brouillard
Head Coach, 16U
Keith has been a valued member of the RBI Staff for the last three years. In addition to lessons as a pitching and hitting instructor he has worked the Jason Varitek/Dustin Pedroia Summer Baseball Camp. Keith graduated from Franklin Pierce College in 2005 while earning his Bachelor’s degree in Marketing. During his time as a pitcher at Franklin Pierce, Brouillard helped lead the Ravens to the 2003 Division II College World Series, a Northeast Regional Championship, and two Northeast-10 Conference Championships. He earned second team ABCA/Rawlings All-Northeast Region during a solid junior season and was selected to play in the NEIBA All-Star Game held at Fenway Park. Keith ranks among career leaders at Franklin Pierce in earned run average (3rd), wins (7th), complete games (8th) and strikeouts (10th), while ranking among single-season leaders in wins (4th), innings (5th), and ERA (7th). Keith, a native of Somerset, MA, currently resides in Bellingham, MA with his wife Jess.
Corey Donovan
Assistant Coach, 16U
Coach Donovan joins the RBI Hawks staff after a stellar career at both Lowell High School and Fitchburg State College. As a sophomore at Lowell HS, Corey got moved up to varsity halfway through the year and started three games. Against Peabody in the Massachusetts State Tournament he pitched 6 innings of relief in a loss. He received Merrimac Valley Conference honorable mention with a 0.60 ERA. Junior year, he was the ace of the staff and pitched 55 innings with a 2.70 ERA. He also chipped in with a.288 batting average. That season he received the 10th Player Award for the varsity squad. As a Senior Captain, Corey pitched 51 innings with a 2.20 ERA and batted .330 and was named team MVP. In the MVC vs. DCL All-Star game at Lelachuer he started at first base. At Fitchburg State College Corey pitched and played outfield for two years before getting injured his junior year. Through hard work and perseverance, he was able to overcome that injury to become a starting pitcher his Senior year. Coach Donovan is excited to join the RBI Hawks staff where he can teach the game on both sides of the ball.
Chris Sullivan
Head Coach, 15U
Coach Sullivan was a standout player at Foxboro High School, having been named Captain in 2002. In that same year, Coach Sullivan was named team defensive MVP as a catcher and was the starting pitcher in the Hockomock All-Star game. He led his team in At-Bats, Hits, Doubles, Runs, RBI, Walks, Stolen Bases, E.R.A., and Opponent’s Batting Average. Coach Sullivan ended his stellar high school career with a 2.32 E.R.A. As a member of the Foxboro Post 93 Legion baseball team in 2001, Coach Sullivan hit .370 and lead his team to 17 straight wins, a District Title, and a Sectional Finals appearance. Coach Sullivan went on to play for Framingham State College as a pitcher and catcher from 2003 – 04. Coach Sullivan was the Freshman Baseball coach at Foxboro HS and the Varsity pitching coach from 2007-2010. He looks forward to being the Freshman Baseball Coach at Bishop Feehan this Spring. Coach Sullivan has also been a coach in the Foxboro Diamond League (Ages 16-18) since 2005. He led his team to a championship in 2005 and a finals appearance in 2008.
Jason Tower
Assistant Coach, 15U
Jason is currently the top assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for Lasell College in Newton, MA. In his first season with Lasell, Coach Tower helped the Lasers finish 5th in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference and compete in the GNAC tournament. Jason coaches the pitchers at Lasell, including an all GNAC selection that finished 3rd in the conference in ERA. Prior to Lasell, Coach enjoyed a solid 4 year career at Eastern Nazarene College where he graduated with a Bachelors degree in Business Communications in 2009. While at ENC, Jason played in two Commonwealth Coast Conference tournaments. Coach Tower also played in the Cranberry League for the Rockland Cardinals, where he participated in a pair of Stan Musial state tournaments. He is currently pursuing his Masters degree in Sports Management from Lasell. Jason, a Weymouth, MA native, currently resides in Woburn, MA with his wife Althea and their dog Bambino.
Sean Sullivan
Head Coach, 14U
Coach Sullivan graduated from North Quincy High School in 2004. He earned varsity letters all 4 years and served as team captain his senior season. Sean received an Old Colony League all star award in 2003-04. During the summer Sean played for Quincy Legion Post 95 from 2000-05 serving as a captain in his final 2 seasons. Later took Coach position for Post 95 from 2007-09. His college years were spent at Bridgewater State College from 2005-07 before injuring elbow and having Tommy John surgery in 2008. Sean would continue his degree during post-surgery rehab and he graduated with a degree in Exercise Science. Putting his degree to good use he worked at Boston University with the hockey team as an assistant strength and conditioning coach from 2005-06. He currently plays in the Yawkey Baseball League for the Somerville Alibrandis Baseball Club. Originally a native of Quincy, MA he currently resides in Bridgewater, MA.
Brian Tanguy
Pitching Coach, 14U
Coach Tanguy comes to the RBI Hawks after a stellar college and professional career. As a player, Coach Tanguy started as a Catholic Conference All-Star pitching BC High to the Division I State Championship in 2001. After high school Coach Tanguy pitched at St. Anselm College, Clarendon Junior College in Texas, Tennessee-Wesleyan College and UMass-Lowell setting several pitching records along the way. After all of that travel Brian settled in closer to home pitching professionally for the Brockton Rox of the Can-Am League in 2007 and 2008. Brian is currently the varsity baseball coach at Gann Academy in Waltham, MA and he plays in the Cranberry League for the Weymouth Phillies. After a successful Fall coaching for RBI Academy, he looks forward to starting lessons at RBI in January.
Pete Olson
Head Coach, 13U
Coach Olson was a four year varsity starter for North Providence High playing second and shortstop, and pitched, he earned 3 first team all division awards, 2 time all-star, 2 time team MVP, divisional player of the year as well as a divisional MVP award. He attended Rhode Island College and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Justice and was a 2 time all conference second basemen, and was able to play for one of the greatest coaches in New England in Jay Grenier. In the Fall of 2009 Coach Olson joined the RBI staff as a head coach in the RBI High School wooden bat league. After rave reviews from several parents and coaches during the High School Wooden Bat season in the Fall of 2009 he instantly became a vital asset to the Hawks Travel Baseball Program.
Kevin Vartian
Assistant Coach, 13U
Coach Vartian is from North Providence, Rhode Island and baseball is a huge passion of his. In 2004, he was named Most Valuable Player of the North Providence High School Varsity team. His hitting style was developed from Pete Olson, head coach of the 13U RBI Hawks, who guided him through the intricate fundamentals of a baseball swing. He recently graduated from Rhode Island College with a Bachelor’s of Science degree. Education is and always will be his top priority. This has aided him in becoming a physical education teacher and head baseball coach at the Gordon School of Multicultural Education in East Providence, Rhode Island. He continues to play baseball in the Ocean State League every summer. Coach Vartian brings a youthful energy to the Hawks that is vital at the 13U level.
